Welcome to BobCrabb.com
Hello, I'm Bob Crabb, a resident of Bettendorf Iowa, and a part-time freelance web developer. I am proficient in HTML/XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and XML, and strive to design sites that are unique and pleasant in appearance, that are highly functional, and that index effectively to meet the needs and objectives of the site owner.
Currently, I am employed full time as the sales manager for a local contract manufacturing company. In that position, my responsibilities include developing and managing the company's internet presence in order to attract new business, and developing web based applications that we use in house. This means that I am constantly learning in my continuing quest to keep up with the latest trends in web development, emerging technology, and standards for web development. Being employed full time however, I cannot always accept new freelance projects.
I only accept new projects when I have sufficient time to bring the project to completion, when I feel as though I can offer a good solution to the prospective customer, and only when the prospective customer exhibits a willingness and ability to effectively communicate their needs and objectives.
Availability
Currently, I am not available to accept any new web design projects.

This is a test of the HTML5 video element. It should work in all browsers except Internet Explorer 8 and older and some of the older versions of Firefox and Chrome, but I have coded a fallback version in flash for those browsers that don't support the video element.
-more-About This Site
The page structure of this site is tableless HTML5, with a custom PHP/MySQL back end employing a simple blog system and traffic monitor. Although CSS3 is not yet an officially published web standard, I have used some CSS3 properties, such as border radius and shadow text.
Since IE does not support the CSS3 properties that I have applied to this site, IE users will not see the styling that results from their use. This disregard for IE support is something that I would never do when developing a commercial site. I would defer to the shortcomings of Internet Explorer so that the reader experience will not be compromised on the basis of browser selection.
The readers of this site, however, will most likely be people who use more advanced browsers, such as Firefox and Chrome, therefore I have made no concessions to IE.
